Farm

Dad is a farmer now, and we recently spent a day helping him up at the farm. The corn looks good!

Awesome Salt

We went to Wendys and Matthew salted his fries. He exclaimed "Wow, this salt is awesome! This is the best salt I've ever had, you guys need to try it!" Mom picked up the packet and read:

Dominoes!

Daniel's masterpiece! It worked pretty good - they all fell down except for the stairstep of blocks on the floor. The start is at the left corner of the table.

Who's watching the baby?

So, we're all busy putting together the post below, and Lydia's playing happily beside us . . . with a rubber stamp!

Summer Fun

We are dangerous in a blueberry patch! 26lbs! Not including what we ate. Ben and Lydia had a blue hue to them for days!
Mom made a promise when Dad was out of town to sleep in the tent with us. However at that time the weather was stormy at night so we pulled a rain check. Daniel, Emily, Matthew, Joey, Ben, Lydia and Mom made it all night. Even though the temperature got down to 50 degrees!

We wouldn't let Ben out the cat hole! It was a real blessing to go to sleep looking at the stars and wake up to the birds - what a majestic world the Lord has made. But it seems that no matter where we go we always get the place looking like home in no time!

We went on a bike ride on a bike trail. Dad pulled Ben on his tractor bike and he and Mom took turns with Lydia. Joey went 4 miles, Me (Emily) and Matthew went 12 miles, Daniel, Robbie and Megan went 14! We play in a church softball league that only plays 6 games, no practices, it's not important who wins, it's just plain family fun. They have kids 5-9 play the first hour, then 10-14 play the second. Dad does the pitching, teaching, and dodging!
Joey: "I love playing baseball! Dad's a great pitcher. I had 4 'home runs' in one game!'
Matthew: "I made 2 home runs in one game, and even made a triple play when I caught the ball in the air! It's more than fun to play!"
We have sprouts! Finally Lydia's hair is getting long enough to put up in a hair pretty! She wakes up with the best bed head!

All about Ben

Benjamin turned 3 last April. He has had 2 episodes where he just calapses and falls to the ground and is completely limp for a few minutes. So we had to have an EEG test to see if it will show what's going on. We haven't heard back from the test yet, but he did such a great job laying still for so long and following their tests. We couldn't bring all the kids back with us so we took some pictures so they could see what went on. Soon he was back to picking and eating black rasperries! A trip to Children's Hospital is very humbling, and causes my heart to weep. There are so many families that struggle and have such hardships, it brings out thankful hearts in all of us. Yet we pray we have a heart of 2 Corinthians 12:9,10: "And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
He hasn't had any more episode to date, but we're still keeping a close eye on him!
