Last night Dad was reading the Bible to us after dinner, we've been reading through the book of Acts. We were reading the part where the centurion sent soldiers to Peter. "How do you think they got there? Why didn't they drive a car?"
"'Cause their weren't any cars," Matthew said.
"So how did they get there, Joey?" asked Dad.
"They rode horses, or mules," Joey answered. "Or pigs."
"Or pigs," Dad nodded, amused. The rest of us were cracking up.

"What are you looking at, Ben?" Dad asked.
"Mom's pictures," he said.
"Mom's pictures?" Dad questioned.
"Mom's wedding picture's," clarified Ben.
"Oh, they're Mom's wedding pictures?" said Dad.
"'up," agreed Ben. (Dad has started saying 'up' instead of 'yep' now, he likes Ben's version so well.)
"Who did she get married to, Ben?"
"I don't know," was the essence of Ben's answer, but the way he says it is like saying just the vowels without any consonants, but with lots of voice inflection. It's hard to explain, but it's something we all have fun with.
"So why am I there?" was Dad's next question. He didn't get an answer for that one, either. ;-)

An Exciting Moment!
This happens about once (maybe twice..?) a year! Last month I was on laundry so Mom said "Emily if you get all those baskets totally empty then we'll take a picture and post it on the blog!" Well sure enough we got all of them empty and took a picture! It sure didn't last long though!

New Month, New Jobs
Not only is there excitment that spring is closer, but with the month turning to the next, our list jobs change. Everyone seems to be pretty excited to leave their old jobs that they have mastered and known by heart over the past month. We've discovered that we have to divide the rooms of the house into sections and assign 'captains' responsible for each part. That way I don't have to spend my time wondering who I've asked to do which job. That usually ended up with "Not Me" taking responsibility for it anyway. We're thankful the Bible says, 'if you do not work, you shall not eat'!
They each are responsible for their own bedrooms and clothes, then the older kids each have a little buddy to help put their clothes away also. Then we've divided up the 'living' rooms so I can quickly tell who has (or has not) done what. Laundry is a job all in it's own, so they get a couple of the less traffic rooms on their list. For meals we also have assigned jobs that change with the month. Dishes, table, counters, and floors are all pre-determined so there is no confusion of what's expected, and with an assigned buddy it makes a great team. Well, sometimes there is confusion, but we can quickly go to the list!
Over the course of time everyone has experience doing everything needed to run a household! This way Mom can just sit back with her feet up and blog! Ha!
