Happy Birthday Jeff!

Tomorrow is Jeff's birthday! Happy Birthday, Happy New Year! This is a copy of my most prized possession! Jeff went to a hotel for a business trip and accidentally brought home an extra hanger. I remember him asking me if I knew which one was the hotels, if I could tell the difference, so we could send it back. I couldn't and didn't think of it again. This was the letter that came in the mail with the returned check. I opened it in front of the kids and we talked about how blessed we are to have a husband and father like Jeff. He knows and lives like God truly sees everything. He doesn't want anything to seperate him from his relationship with Christ, or prevent any of His blessings. This little piece of paper shows what integrity this man has, he does the right thing even if no one is looking or will ever see. I would have never known he even sent a letter or check to this hotel. And it just so happened that I got the mail that day. I'm thankful for his heart, for who he is and what he stands for! Matthew 8:36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

Proverbs 28:13 "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."

Here is a list of what the kids are thankful for (in their own words):

Lydia: DaDa!

Ben: When he loves me! Takes me to the store. Play baseball. Mowing the grass with me on the mower.

Joey: I like buying presents for him. He's a nice dad. He likes to be my dad and helps alot. And trips. He loves us.

Matthew: Going hunting. Pitching to us at baseball. Walking with us around the trail in the summer. How much he loves us. Taking me for rides on the tractor at the farm. He lets me shoot the cross bow and practice shooting. Blessing us in so many ways. Taking us on bike rides, and plays with us.

Emily: I like it when he takes me places or hunting. How much he loves us. He's a good teacher. He's patient with us and plays baseball with us.

Daniel: That he is a Christian and he teaches us about Jesus. He takes us hunting. He's fun! He teaches us alot of things and homeschools us.

Robbie: He always takes time to play with us kids, and scedules alot of special events for the family, and for each of us alone with him. He's very unselfish and gives us all the good hunting spots.

Megan: When we ride in the car together. When he just comes up and asks me, "How are you Megan?", usually a couple of times a day. When he laughs at something funny.

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Hey, I think I left a hanger at your house too last time we were there! :D Just kidding! I'm sure the manager was "touched".
