Thanksgiving Dinner

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration! So much to be thankful for! We went to the highways and byways and gathered all we could for dinner! We even invited the checkout lady at Wal-mart when we heard she and her husband were going to be alone! (She didn't come, but we'll try again for Christmas!) We cooked the biggest turkey we've ever had. We forgot to weigh it but it was over 30lbs! Daniel and I wrestled it to make it fit in the pan - that was hilarious!

Matthew 22:9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.'

I am so glad you had a great Thanksgiving - and showed the love of God to others. God Bless you.

The quote you selected, Matthew 22:9, "Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding." is a powerful parable that the King's Son (Son of God, Yeshua) will be killed by the invited (chosen people of Israel) and the invitation will now move to the highway's (non-Jews/all nations/Gentiles) and fulfill the promises of scripture to bring salvation to the world from the Jewish Messiah.

This would be a hard message in a Jewish religious culture that had developed a belief that simply by being a son of Abraham, each Jew could count on salvation from God.

So the parable would have been hard to swallow (thanksgiving pun) for those who listened but couldn't hear.

Related, Matthew 23:29 "for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'Blessed [is] He who comes in the name of the LORD!'"
brings promise of reconciliation and salvation for the Jewish nation at the end of the Great Tribulation when the Jewish nation's leaders recognize Yeshua as the Messiah at the desperate times near the end of the Great Tribulation.

It brings up an interesting point. How might Satan try to disrupt God's plans as described in Scripture going forward past the end of the Great Tribulation?

Simple. Satan would want to kill all the Jews and destroy the nation of Israel in order to make it impossible for Jesus' statement in Matthew 23:29 to be uttered by the nation's religious leadership.

It gives you an indication about why Satan still believes he has a valuable purpose and solid opportunity to accomplish his purpose of trying to destroy the Jews.
