Robbie's Birthday

Robbie turned 17 on the 18th. I've affectionately nicknamed him my 'big-little brother', since, though I may be older, I'm definitely not the taller of the two anymore. :P

Robbie started his own lawn-mowing business 3 years ago, running an ad in the paper and knocking on doors, drumming up business. He's run Kunkel Lawncare since then. Last fall he started an accelerated distance learning program, called CollegePlus! He loves the program. :) He wouldn't forgive me if I didn't add in the link so you can get more information: Click here. :D

Since he started the CP! program last fall, he's earned 36 college credits, making him a college sophomore, as well as a highschool senior. Aaaand on Friday he passed his Western Civilization CLEP test ... which he was very excited to be done with!

Robbie isn't an easy-cake-mix kind of guy. For several years now, his birthday dessert of choice has been homeade apple pie ... and he usually bakes it himself!

I've only got about 200 pictures from Robbie's birthday ... here's a couple. :D

Opening presents ... Ben's giving Robbie a mini-Twix. :)
Singing "happy birthday" ...
... twice. :) It's a family tradition - the second time, we sing LOUD!
After Lydia had finished her pie and ice cream, she saw the coolwhip on the table. "But Mom! I didn't det any tool whip!" So, being the cool big sister that I am, I told her to stick out her hand, and sprayed cool whip on it. She wasn't quite sure what to do with that!
She looked at it for awhile before someone took pity on her and helped her wash it off. Then, Mom got the bright idea to spray coolwhip into Robbie's mouth ... so he laid down on the picnic table bench and let her.
He got a bit more than he bargained for. :P
Lydia was amused!
Shades ...
One of Robbie's presents was camouflage face paint ... so all the little boys had to put some on!

Robbie and Lydia ... who he calls "Missy".

Happy birthday Robbie!

Seeing the photos I felt like I was almost there with you and I could "feel" the family closeness and fun! It brings back memories of when our family was that "young". I miss those sweet little innocent faces! Pam Parker :-)
